MBBS Admission Policy for Session 2023 – 24 (Class of 2029)

Admission on Local Seats:

As per PMDC regulation dated 13th July 2023, to be eligible for admission at Liaquat National Medical College, a candidate must have:

• Passed the MDCAT examination (55% and above);
• Obtained a Higher Secondary School certificate qualification ("HSSC") or an equivalent 12th grade qualification recognized in Pakistan and having obtained a minimum of sixty percent (60%) marks therein, or a higher percentage as may be notified by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council; and
• Passed the mandatory subjects of biology and chemistry. The student may opt to qualify either physics or mathematics in the examination of the Higher Secondary School Certificate or an equivalent 12th grade qualification recognized in Pakistan.

Admission on Foreign / Dual National / Overseas Pakistani Quota Seats

As per PMDC regulation dated 13th July 2023, the student admitted against foreign / Dual National /overseas Pakistani quota shall have to fulfill the following admission criteria:

• A foreign quota seat candidate should hold a permanent foreign nationality or be an overseas (being a Pakistani citizen permanently resident in a foreign country) Pakistani, and who has studied and passed HSSC 12th grade examination or equivalent from outside Pakistan and is a resident of a foreign country at the time of applying for admission and possess a certificate from the institution last attended to this effect. The student must pass the mandatory subjects of biology and chemistry and may opt to qualify either physics or mathematics in the examination of the Higher Secondary School Certificate or an equivalent 12th grade qualification recognized in Pakistan.
• The mandatory requirement of MDCAT shall not apply to students seeking admission on a special program seat predefined exclusively for foreign students and on the seats reserved for overseas Pakistanis. Such students shall qualify SAT-II with minimum score of 550 in each subject or a foreign MCAT examination or UCAT examination with 50% marks in the subjects mentioned above.
• Provided further that a student admitted on a foreign seat shall pay the fee as a foreign student regardless of any change in status of such student during the program of study. A foreign student shall pay the prescribed fee in foreign exchange only.

WEIGHTAGE SCHEME FOR PREPARATION OF MERIT LIST

The following PMDC policy will be followed for admission of 1st year session 2023-24, according to the PMDC regulation dated 13th July 2023.

• MDCAT (50%)
• FSc (Pre-Medical)/HSSC/Equivalent (40%) of total marks and
• SSC/Matriculation/Equivalent (10%) of total marks

ADMISSION PROCESS

• The admission process shall be conducted through an online admission portal.
• Applicant shall pay the Application Registration Fee (Rs.2,000) by printing voucher from the portal, depositing payment in bank and uploading the receipt in the portal.
• LNMC shall issue a final merit list of all students on its official website taking into account results of MDCAT and other exam results.
• A student when accepting admission to our college shall be under an obligation to disclose if a prior admission has been accepted by him/her to any other college, and such student shall prior to accepting such latter admission must in writing inform the prior college of cancellation of their acceptance with a copy to the designated email of PMDC & LNMC.
• If any student declines admission offer or does not pay fee by voucher due date, next applicant on the merit list will be offered admission against such seat.
• The final list of admitted students shall be submitted to PMDC through PMDC Online Portal.
